JUDITH SENG
(Germany, 1974)
Judith Seng investigates contemporary culture and its concrete manifestations in an attempt to expand the practice of design through a performative approach to matter. Her works are both poetical and analytical, and range from research, experimentation, and the creation of objects for both everyday living spaces and international exhibition and academic contexts. Seng participated in the transdisciplinary research project “Design Reaktor Berlin” at the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin, which explored exemplary production scenarios in the post-industrial Berlin context. She then started the experimental production series ACTING THINGS in which process design is explored through the elements and methods of the performing arts. Her projects have been exhibited in institutions around the world; some works are part of the FNAC Fonds National d’Art Contemporain Collection. Since 2005, Judith Seng has run her studio in Berlin, as well as teaching and consulting for several international art schools.
