Description
All human beings, artists included, live halfway between awareness and unawareness, suspended between three realities: the cultural past that gravitates within us, the instances that we take in from the present and the inevitable projection into the future. Lunardon has designed and created an alien population that is friendly, playful, and colourful and that is like us in its customary representation of lie.
In a world in which our counterparts have become dangerous, unpredictable enemies – that is, aliens, in the negative sense of the term – perhaps we humans should search for a friendly alien, an E.T., a saving figure who comes from another world.
This piece in particular uses the Venetian technique of argentatura (silver plating).
